Course description
A half-day, 4-hour lecture by Chief Ed Hadfield at the Southwest Fire Conference 2027 that puts building construction in the context of truck company operations. Truck officers learn to read the building during size-up — construction types, roof and floor systems, lightweight construction, renovations and concealed spaces — and how it affects forcible entry, search, vertical ventilation, laddering, collapse hazards and crew positioning.
