1. Who we are
Jobtown Class Board (jobtownclassboard.com, “Jobtown,” “we”) is a free directory of firefighter and rescue training classes. It is operated by Wesley Pruitt, doing business as Jobtown Class Board, 127 Nathan Forest Dr, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Contact: classes@jobtownclassboard.com.
2. What we collect
- Class alerts: your email address, ZIP code, travel radius and chosen specialties. We also record when you signed up and confirmed, the version of the consent wording you saw, and the IP address used to sign up.
- Class submissions: provider or organization name, contact name, email, optional phone and website, class details, and any flyer you upload.
- Contact form: your name, email, topic, subject and message.
- Site analytics: Vercel Web Analytics records page views, referring site, country, browser, operating system and device type. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
- Server logs: our host keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we use it
To send the class alerts you asked for and match them to your area and interests; to review, publish and update class listings; to answer messages and handle corrections and removal requests; to understand which pages are useful and keep the site working and secure; and to meet legal obligations, such as keeping records of email consent and unsubscribes.
4. What gets published
Class listing details may be published, including the provider’s name, public website and any flyer approved for posting. A submitter’s personal contact name, email and phone are used for review and are not published unless the provider asks us to list them as the class contact. Contact form messages are never published.
5. Who processes it for us
We use service providers that handle data only to run Jobtown: Vercel (hosting and cookieless analytics), Supabase (stores alert subscriptions), Resend (sends confirmation, alert and form emails) and Zoho Mail (our inbox). We do not sell your personal information, do not share it for targeted advertising, and do not give subscriber lists to training providers or advertisers.
6. Cookies
Jobtown does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookieless. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
7. Email alerts
We send alerts only after you confirm your signup from the email we send you. Every alert includes a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to change your preferences. Unsubscribing takes effect right away. If you don’t open or click any alert for 90 days, we’ll ask you to re-confirm and stop emailing you if you don’t. We keep a record of your email and unsubscribe date so we don’t email you again.
8. How long we keep it
- Alert data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, except the minimal suppression record above.
- Unconfirmed signups: deleted after 30 days.
- Contact messages and submissions: up to 24 months, or longer while a listing is live.
- Analytics: kept in aggregate by Vercel under its own retention.
9. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe at any time, change your alert preferences, or ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing classes@jobtownclassboard.com or using the Contact page. We respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, Canada, or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights; we honor these requests regardless of location and won’t treat you differently for making them. EU/UK residents: our legal basis for alerts is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; for listings and messages it is our legitimate interest in running the directory. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Do Not Track
There is no common standard for browser Do Not Track signals. Because we don’t track you across sites, we don’t change behavior based on them.
11. Children
Jobtown is for firefighters, rescuers and training providers, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
13. Third-party sites
Listings link to provider websites and registration pages we don’t control. Their privacy practices apply when you visit them.
14. Changes
We’ll post updates here and change the effective date. For material changes affecting alert subscribers, we’ll email them before the change takes effect.
