Course description

An intensive 5-day remote rescue workshop that goes beyond standard rope operations and technician courses, built to the technical rescue skill considerations in FIRESCOPE ICS 162-4 and NWCG PMS 552. After a short classroom session on the first morning, students spend about 4.5 days in wildland-type terrain using lightweight, component-based systems and small-diameter rope. Topics include austere anchoring, single-rope rescue, multi-pitch techniques and small-team leadership.
